Our Wall puts your family's photos and art on your TV. Family photos are personal, so here is the short version: your photos are yours, they are stored privately, we don't sell them, we don't show ads, and you can delete them at any time.
What we collect
- Your account: email address, first name if you give it, and a scrambled (hashed) password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Your photos: the photos you upload, photos emailed to your family's address, and the painted portraits you create.
- Your choices: which pictures are on the TV, mats and frames, timer and other settings.
- Your TVs: a name for each connected TV and when it last checked in.
- Email senders: the email addresses of people you allow to send photos, and of people who try to.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive your plan and payment status, never your full card number.
- Basic technical records: such as error logs and the time of requests, used to keep the service running and secure.
How we use it
- To show your pictures on your TVs and in the app.
- To create painted portraits when you ask for one.
- To run your subscription and send service emails such as a password reset.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your photos for advertising. We do not use your photos to train our own AI models.
Painted portraits and AI
When you tap "Paint it", the photo you chose is sent to Google's Gemini service, which creates the painting and sends it back. Only that photo is sent, and only when you ask. Google handles it under its own API terms and privacy policy. Photos you never paint are never sent to an AI service.
Companies that help us run Our Wall
- Vercel: runs the website and stores your photos in a private store.
- Neon: hosts the database with your account and settings.
- Google (Gemini): creates painted portraits, as described above.
- Stripe: takes payments.
- Resend: delivers our emails and receives photos emailed to your family's address.
They process information only to provide these services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How your photos are protected
- Photos are kept in private storage and are sent over encrypted connections.
- Your phone and TV load each photo through a signed link that stops working after a few weeks. Treat a copied photo link like the photo itself until it expires.
- A TV can show your pictures only after you connect it with a code, and you can remove a TV at any time.
- Emailed photos from anyone you have not approved wait for your OK before they appear.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
Keeping and deleting
- Delete any photo or painting in the app and it is removed from our storage.
- To delete your whole account and everything in it, write to hello@ourwall.tv from your account email. We will delete it within 30 days.
- We keep your information while your account is open, and limited records afterward where the law requires (for example, payment records).
Children
Our Wall is for adults. Parents and guardians often add photos of their children, and those photos are treated with the same protections as everything else. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Cookies
We use one cookie to keep you signed in, and your TV remembers that it is connected. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change your information in the app. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Write to hello@ourwall.tv and we will help. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Changes
If we make a meaningful change to this policy we will update the date above and tell you in the app or by email.
